I've been scared and hesitant about asking for help, but I think it's time I swallowed my pride and do it. So, I contacted the Small Business Association's local branch. They seemed like the best place to go. And so far, I feel I was right.<div><div><br /></div><div>They have TONS of information on their national website and the local office has great FREE seminars and very affordable courses on everything you need to make your business a success. You never know which skill you will need at your next event. I have to be a seamstress, a hairdresser, florist, caterer, and painter. And that's just to name a few. On event day, the last thing the bride wants to stress over is her dress popping a stitch or the caterer being behind schedule delivering Hors d'oeuvres. And that's where I come in. <span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-weight: bold;">The ever-ready event planner to the rescue!</span> <span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-weight: bold;">Who says event planners aren't essential?</span></span></span></div></span>Sani Nielsenhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13002521458547606833noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4215361089120315310.post-54607643912206563832009-05-07T14:31:00.000-07:002009-05-07T17:02:28.537-07:00A glimpse into an event planners' day<a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhVVbKoY2JLQlPDFUnT2tDcyC-axuKHqAPXBaotEFUnYsE_UWjx-LItGUB6S-tGIXRIx1W6ixWVOiS-ag_-P7_hqqKX3-mPF-wUPsSZnGA9LwtQ70lmo7o49RuMMSK_Bh96xpweftRpqOdK/s1600-h/DSC_0601.jpg"></a><br /><br /><div style="text-align: left; "><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-weight: bold;">Here are a few pictures showing different elements of my business.</span></div><div><div style="text-align: left; "><br /></div></div><div><div style="text-align: left;"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size:13px;"><br /></span></div><div style="text-align: left;"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size:13px;"><img style="float:left; margin:0 10px 10px 0;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 200px; height: 150px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhrL00jYcqQO8ED6h-jNQICnkqt-psawN_y6hPBkIjnPLIYyCSdDbAs1HhypZUHjP5KIImXZ4VQqJc7NFXuKxiZK6fugQaI5V-mJ189akBJUXGcPnhVGGhOg4-qJOoPPeRMBg1THnqpInBF/s200/CIMG9313.JPG" border="0" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5333233099503365058" /></span></div><div style="text-align: left;"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size: medium;">Designing centerpieces and tabletops for a reception dinner.</span></div><div style="text-align: left;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: left;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: left;"><br /></div><div><br /></div><div><br /></div><div><br /></div><div><br /></div><div><br /></div><div><img style="float:left; margin:0 10px 10px 0;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 200px; height: 133px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgNcrYJWlNE4tEW1_2JJz2Hoq6zgU2c4rh4C1xPx3mPivSz-j-kDglf-lpiP7DzEXjBGtCvZgrmaMf8nMvarp6Bdh1TsM6MYOcMp_dDC11_leAagHFSAyRpf98Ka3VtRUx7mYYqSC2s-Wnu/s200/Cleaning+Stacy%27s+Dress.jpg" border="0" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5333224280865848322" /></div><div><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size: medium;">Cleaning a wedding dress before pictures</span></div><div><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size:13px;"><br /></span></div><div><br /></div><div><br /></div><div><br /></div><div><br /></div><div><br /></div><div><br /></div><div><br /></div><div><span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: rgb(0, 0, 238); "><img src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhVVbKoY2JLQlPDFUnT2tDcyC-axuKHqAPXBaotEFUnYsE_UWjx-LItGUB6S-tGIXRIx1W6ixWVOiS-ag_-P7_hqqKX3-mPF-wUPsSZnGA9LwtQ70lmo7o49RuMMSK_Bh96xpweftRpqOdK/s200/DSC_0601.jpg" border="0" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5333234961608605282" style="float: left; margin-top: 0px; margin-right: 10px; margin-bottom: 10px; margin-left: 0px; cursor: pointer; width: 133px; height: 200px; " /></span></div></div><span class="Apple-tab-span" style="white-space:pre"> </span> <span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size: medium;">Organizing the buffet display</span><br /><div><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size:13px;"></span></div>Sani Nielsenhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13002521458547606833noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4215361089120315310.post-39251535377490867182009-05-07T14:27:00.000-07:002009-05-07T14:31:37.365-07:00The time to act is nowI've been putting off this business long enough. Now that the holidays are over and life is slowing down, I have many friends telling me it's time to stop putting off what they KNOW will be a great business move for me.<div><br /></div><div>They know I love events. I know I love events. But in a recession, it's hard to feel like you could make your dreams a reality. Well... if I never start, then they'll never have a chance to be real.</div><div><br /></div><div>So, I know I've said it before. But I think it's time I just believe in myself and take that leap of faith.</div>Sani Nielsenhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13002521458547606833noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4215361089120315310.post-16598705341944177942009-03-06T07:46:00.000-08:002009-03-06T08:04:06.699-08:00Pay it forwardThanks Rina for this great idea!<div><br /></div><div>The first 3 people to leave a comment on this post will receive a hand-made gift from me during this year. When and what will be a surprise. There's a small catch though- you must pay it forward on your own blog. Then come back and comment telling me you're in.</div><div><br /></div><div>Even a little gift can make a big difference in someone's life. Whose life will you touch when you pay it forward?</div>Sani Nielsenhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13002521458547606833noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4215361089120315310.post-27812563511450001292009-03-05T20:09:00.000-08:002009-03-05T21:08:00.326-08:00Starting from Scratch<a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh2ihzQoPzKr_S2o4BlTIUvKpLj33jtqPzpgyLk1t_1D_ErTl1e3hcvyNaaYNONccTmmuXQrM78Rdi1APz-ILl8zpB7GxpDRlxVGz3jF-l6FhFIZA6kY0oV3QJ1CPfAuIGL5WxpR_XtgoU6/s1600-h/CIMG7116.JPG"><img style="float:left; margin:0 10px 10px 0;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 240px; height: 320px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh2ihzQoPzKr_S2o4BlTIUvKpLj33jtqPzpgyLk1t_1D_ErTl1e3hcvyNaaYNONccTmmuXQrM78Rdi1APz-ILl8zpB7GxpDRlxVGz3jF-l6FhFIZA6kY0oV3QJ1CPfAuIGL5WxpR_XtgoU6/s320/CIMG7116.JPG" border="0" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5309937017006216914" /></a><br /><span><span></span></span>All right everyone. It's time I got into the Blogging action. So, here I am-<div><div>Sunny Day Event Consulting is hitting the Blog!<div><br /></div><div>My name is Sani (pronounced "Sunny," don't let the odd spelling throw you) and I am a personal event consultant. I've worked in the event industry for almost 5 years and love helping people make their dreams a reality. </div><div><br /></div><div>My mission is to help everyone (no matter how much or how little you have in your budget) create and enjoy a memorable event. Just because you don't make big bucks, doesn't mean your event can't LOOK that way. I can take the stress off your shoulders and plan the event for you. Or, I will build a road map to help you plan and execute your own events for less.</div><div><br /></div><div>My goal- take your vision and your budget and help you create a memorable event your guests and a meaningful savings for you.</div></div></div>Sani Nielsenhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13002521458547606833noreply@blogger.com0
