The SBA

SBA Homepage

I felt like I needed some tips and suggestions about how to make my company better. I've been scared and hesitant about asking for help, but I think it's time I swallowed my pride and do it. So, I contacted the Small Business Association's local branch. They seemed like the best place to go. And so far, I feel I was right.

They have TONS of information on their national website and the local office has great FREE seminars and very affordable courses on everything you need to make your business a success. I am excited to work with this group and I know they want me to succeed as much as I do.

Wish me luck!

Jill-of-all-trades

In my line of work, you have to me a Jill-of-all-trades. You never know which skill you will need at your next event. I have to be a seamstress, a hairdresser, florist, caterer, and painter. And that's just to name a few. On event day, the last thing the bride wants to stress over is her dress popping a stitch or the caterer being behind schedule delivering Hors d'oeuvres. And that's where I come in. The ever-ready event planner to the rescue! Who says event planners aren't essential?

A glimpse into an event planners' day

Here are a few pictures showing different elements of my business.

The time to act is now

I've been putting off this business long enough. Now that the holidays are over and life is slowing down, I have many friends telling me it's time to stop putting off what they KNOW will be a great business move for me.

They know I love events. I know I love events. But in a recession, it's hard to feel like you could make your dreams a reality. Well... if I never start, then they'll never have a chance to be real.

So, I know I've said it before. But I think it's time I just believe in myself and take that leap of faith.

Pay it forward

Thanks Rina for this great idea!

The first 3 people to leave a comment on this post will receive a hand-made gift from me during this year. When and what will be a surprise. There's a small catch though- you must pay it forward on your own blog. Then come back and comment telling me you're in.

Even a little gift can make a big difference in someone's life. Whose life will you touch when you pay it forward?

Starting from Scratch

All right everyone. It's time I got into the Blogging action. So, here I am-
Sunny Day Event Consulting is hitting the Blog!

My name is Sani (pronounced "Sunny," don't let the odd spelling throw you) and I am a personal event consultant. I've worked in the event industry for almost 5 years and love helping people make their dreams a reality.

My mission is to help everyone (no matter how much or how little you have in your budget) create and enjoy a memorable event. Just because you don't make big bucks, doesn't mean your event can't LOOK that way. I can take the stress off your shoulders and plan the event for you. Or, I will build a road map to help you plan and execute your own events for less.

My goal- take your vision and your budget and help you create a memorable event your guests and a meaningful savings for you.
